Set along the Atlantic shoreline, this addition and renovation reimagines an existing home through the lens of the classic saltbox form. The design introduces a new roofline that reshapes the home’s profile, creating a timeless silhouette that nods to traditional New England vernacular while embracing contemporary living.
A spacious deck extends from the rear of the home, offering sweeping ocean views and a seamless connection between interior and landscape. Inside, a traditional aesthetic is reinterpreted through an open-concept floor plan, where natural light, coastal textures, and warm materials bring comfort and cohesion to the renewed structure.
At the heart of the design, a new fireplace and chimney serve as both a visual and spatial anchor—grounding the saltbox form and extending its presence outward to the ocean-facing patio. The result is a home that feels both familiar and refreshed: rooted in heritage, yet open to the horizon.
